Network Administration and Security Engineer
Position Description

Lion’s Gate’s professional team of IT Engineers consists of network, cloud and data center
engineers, network penetration specialist, project managers, as well as IT consultants. Each
person is selected for Lion’s Gate based on their field expertise, work ethic, and professionalism.
1.0 Position Overview
We are looking for a capable system security engineer, who enjoys security work and possesses
both deep and wide expertise in the security space. You will make things more secure by
protecting system boundaries, keeping computer systems and network devices hardened against
attacks and securing highly sensitive data. Qualified candidates will have a background in
security or systems engineering.
2.0 Essential Functions

Engineer, implement and monitor security measures for the protection of computer systems, networks and information

Identify and define system security requirements
-
Design computer security architecture and develop detailed cyber security designs
-
Prepare and document standard operating procedures and protocols
-
Configure and troubleshoot security infrastructure devices
-
Develop technical solutions and new security tools to help mitigate security vulnerabilities and automate repeatable tasks

Ensure that the company knows as much as possible, as quickly as possible about security incidents

Write comprehensive reports including assessment-based findings, outcomes and propositions for further system security enhancement

Performs Add/Change/Remove user requests while following IT policy for all changes.

Maintain and updates an accurate IT asset inventory including proper addition and changes of assets, decommissioning of assets, and organizing disposal of equipment.

Diagnoses and resolves end-user network or local printer problems, PC hardware problems, email problems, and site connectivity problems.
3.0 Competencies

Proven work experience as a system security engineer or network administrator.

Experience in building and maintaining security systems
-
Detailed technical knowledge of database and operating system security
-
Hands on experience in security systems, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, anti-virus software, authentication systems, log management, content filtering, etc
-
Experience with network security and networking technologies and with system, security, and network monitoring tools
-
Thorough understanding of the latest security principles, techniques, and protocols
-
Familiarity with web related technologies (Web applications, Web Services, Service Oriented
-
Architectures) and of network/web related protocols
-
Demonstrated good judgment and proactive approach in solving problems as well as identifying problems in advance, and proposing solutions.

Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to create technical documentation and system diagrams.

Excellent problem-solving, troubleshooting and analytical skills.

Ability to prioritize workload and tasks to effectively meet deadlines, and ability to lead, and own projects.
4.0 Education
-
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Cyber-Security, Networking,

Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or related field required, equivalent
-
work experience in systems administration, design, and security may be substituted for
-
education.

Minimum three years of experience in LAN and WAN technologies, network design,
-
network management etc.

Minimum three years of progressively responsible experience performing Windows/Cisco
-
system administration duties in a critical production environment.
5.0 Certifications
CompTIA Security+, CCNA: Cisco Certified Network Associate (Routing and Switching), CEH:
Certified Ethical Hacker, GSEC / GCIH / GCIA: GIAC Security Certifications, CISSP: Certified
Information Systems Security Professional or Offensive Security Certified Professional (OSCP)
6.0 Salary
To be determined based on the nature of the position being filled, education/certification, and
work experience.
