(LGSS), is a multimillion dollar security firm founded in 2010, and is one of the largest minority owned and Service Disabled Veteran owned security firms in the United States. Our company’s success has come from our focus on employing individuals with high levels of professionalism and expert knowledge, which in turn provides our clients with highly skilled staff who can effectively serve their needs.
Headquartered in Omaha, Nebraska, Lion’s Gate Security Solutions, Inc. was established by law enforcement and safety experts to improve public safety and awareness and to protect the assets of local business owners. Lion’s Gate Security Solutions, Inc. is a member of the Omaha Chamber of Commerce and is registered with the Better Business Bureau.
OUR HISTORY and GROWTH
In November of 2010, Lion’s Gate Security Solutions, Inc. was founded by Joseph H. Hodges, Jr. and Calvin D. Jones. Hodges and Jones were retired at the time, after over 20 years with the Omaha Police Department. In their years with the police department, they gained a wealth of knowledge and experience in all facets of law enforcement. Hodges and Jones were adjunct criminal justice instructors at the University of Nebraska at Omaha and Metro Community College, respectively. As police officers, Hodges’s and Jones’s strengths included investigating gang crimes, criminal investigations, crime prevention, and academy training. As owners of a security company, Hodges and Jones drew upon their military and law enforcement experience to focus on professionalism, visibility, education, and training in order to bring law enforcement and military training standards to the corporate arena.
Lion’s Gate Security Solutions, Inc. selected management staff with significant military and fire service. Our management staff has extensive credentials as first responders and in training and education. With this combination of law enforcement, military, and fire service experience and training, Lion’s Gate Security Solutions, Inc. brings a unique approach to problem solving and crime prevention as well as professional training credentials. This sets us apart from other security companies. Our management personnel have an understanding of criminal behavior and are trained to adapt strategies to predict, prevent, and respond to crimes.
OUR LEADERSHIP TEAM
Joseph H. Hodges Jr., CEO
Joseph Hodges was a member of the U.S. Armed Forces, serving over 34 years on active duty in the Air Force, the Nebraska Air National Guard, and the Air Force Reserves. Hodges was assigned in the Fire Protection field and rose to the rank of Fire Chief, serving two tours in the Middle East during Desert Storm and Operation Iraqi Freedom. Hodges retired in 2010 from the Air Force Reserves as a decorated war veteran.
Calvin Jones, CFO
Calvin Jones served over 22 years with the Omaha Police Department, in which he was assigned to many high-profile and startup units, including a federal drug task force and Weed and Seed initiatives. He served as a gang unit investigator and a school resource officer as well as other roles in crime analysis and crime prevention. Jones’s willingness to take on new and previously unmanageable challenges contributed to his promotion to the position of Sergeant. As a first-line supervisor in the Omaha Police Department, his work involved planning, assigning, overseeing, disciplining, assisting and appraising the work of subordinate police officers. After retiring, Jones worked for Omaha Public Schools as the high school community learning center site coordinator and held an adjunct position criminal justice instructor at Metropolitan Community College.
Dr. Richard Montgomery, National Training Director
Dr. Montgomery is an education expert with twenty years of experience in higher education. He is an educational psychologist who has served as a community college dean and university faculty member, with distinguished faculty status in China and Hungary. Dr. Montgomery is certified by the National Safety Council and the American Safety & Health Institute.
